Co-Founders
Arturo and Zamequa are committed to creating a space to educate youth and their families on the importance of homesteading. Zamequa is a former teacher with a decade's worth of classroom experience, both in-person and virtual. She has taught elementary through high school aged students, specializing in the humanities. Arturo comes from a family where everyone has a green thumb and a knack for building. He is currently a certified master automotive technician with experience training up and coming technicians. Together, they have turned their suburban home into a small homestead with dreams of obtaining farmland in the near future.
Eirene Rocha
Collaborative Instructor
Eirene Rocha is a passionate educator dedicated to "all things art" and the holistic growth of the youth she mentors. By prioritizing collaboration over competition, she creates a vibrant space where young artists thrive, find their voices, and build community through shared creativity. Her work is a testament to the idea that when youth create together, they grow together.

Deidre Powell
Historian
With over 30 years of experience in culturally relevant pedagogy, Deidre Powell brings a profound depth of heart and heritage to her work. Currently a Doctoral candidate at Loyola Marymount University, Deidre specializes in making history feel personal.
She possesses a unique gift for making every student feel seen and indispensable, creating a space where they are empowered to explore the hidden facets of their own culture and history. Deidre doesn’t just teach the past—she inspires others to uncover the "why" behind who they are.
